I’m Leah, a 30-ish wife and lawyer turned stay-at-home parent. Six years ago I would not have recognized the person that I am today. After years of studies and passing the bar exam in three different states, I was practicing law at a prominent international law firm.
Then I got pregnant.
Fast forward one year later and I was standing in my boss’s office resigning. It felt crazy…and maybe it was. (I sure do miss the pay check.) But here I am, with no regrets.
Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I love sweet tea and big front porches. And although I live in suburban Philadelphia, the meals I cook most include red beans and rice, jambalaya and biscuits with milk gravy. Yum yum.
I met my Jersey Boy husband the old fashioned way (in a bar) in 2002 and I love him to pieces, faults and all. We have three precious babies who aren’t really babies anymore (they are six, four and two) and these days I maintain my sanity by squeezing in writing between preschool, nap schedules, cooking, dishes and laundry. My writing has appeared on the mega site Scary Mommy and on MOPS International’s blog Hello, Dearest.
I’ve been crushing the cliché here at Unbored Housewife since 2015 – no bon bons in sight. I may be a housewife, but I’m certainly not bored. I work with willing hands (Proverbs 31:13).
I’m thrilled that you’re here! Thank you for spending some of your precious time with me, and I hope you enjoy!
